Re: 53

Yup, so do I.
She apparently has the emotional maturity of an 8 year old. Notwithstanding 'Justice is blind' and all that rot, I feel badly for her also.

Nonetheless, sometimes you need to be 'crushed' and humbled to come out a better person.
Hopefully she kept her Bible with her and actually spends some time reading it and thinking about the big picture. 45 days is nothing in the scheme of things.

“They are sticking it to her because she is a celebrity.”

Yes, I agree. That’s easy to see with anybody with clarity.

it was not reduced, if she did good behavior that is what 45 days equals.

ALL prisoners (unless a day for day mandatory sentence) have a good behavior provision for an earlier release.

This is too much for her. No doubt in my mind if any of us were in similar circumstances, the punishment wouldn’t be as severe.

I don’t feel sorry for Paris, she probably had this whole deal worked out with Bacca before she turned herself in. I bet her attorney told her “Don’t worry, turn yourself in and I’ll have you out before 72 hours, the Sherriff and I worked out a deal, you’ll see.”

"Hilton, who was brought to court in handcuffs in a sheriff's car..."

Now, really... Would they do that to the average Jane in these circumstances?

Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was calm but apparently irked by the morning's developments. He said he had left the courthouse Thursday night having signed an order for Hilton to appear for the hearing.

When he got in his car early Friday, he said, he heard a radio report that he had approved Hilton's participation in the hearing by telephone, but he had not.

"I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions," he said of the decision to release Hilton from jail after three days.

"At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home on Kings Road," Sauer said.

To me, it seems like the judge is just a little obsessed with this case. Does he always take such an interest in parole violators? Does he always make decisions based on what he hears on the radio? Does he always issue sua sponte orders for released prisoners to appear before him?

I admire you.

I’ve never met anyone who would argue with a D.I.

Oh, I have a lot of doubt in my mind about that. I know people who have violated probation like that and have been forced to serve full time. No BS from the sheriff to help them out either.

She can rot for all I care.

Ordinarily it's not nice to take joy in the misery of others.

But in this case I'll make an exception and enjoy the hell out of it.

Good. House arrest is fine. Sticking a lightweight like her in jail (not prison) for 45 days is silly, given that none of us would be punished as severely in similar circumstances.

That I don’t know...

TMZ has multiple inside sources who have painted a bleak picture of day # 2 in the slammer. In three words, “Paris is scared.”

Paris has been crying on the phone, saying she’s not sleeping or eating. Paris says her cell is “freezing cold.” She has three little blankets and no pillow. She’s using one of the blankets as a pillow. The room is bright and jail noise echoes through her space.

Sleep isn’t the only problem. Paris says she has no appetite and has eaten almost nothing.

Inmates actually struck up a chant when Paris went back to her cell earlier today. As she walked by they struck up a chorus, “Paris! Paris! Paris!” We’re told she smiled and waved. Some inmates have been coming up to her cell door, mostly to say hi. One inmate said, “You don’t deserve to be here.” Another made an origami butterfly from a magazine page and slipped it under her door. Another slipped a drawing book under her door. The guards, Paris says, have all been nice.

She’s called her lawyer and family, but found it really hard to talk because there’s a recording, “You have one minute left. This call is being recorded.”

I agree with you. Sadly, too many folks can’t see this clearly and evaluate it fairly.
