Highway-Going-To-The-Sun, Glacier National Park, Montana
beautiful but rilly skeery in a car
I’m referring to the YMCA...
The traffic here USED to be okay, but it’s crazy now!
Though you’re right about the Bay Area’s traffic, I used to live in Santa Clara and it would take me hours sometimes to get to Santa Cruz, Walnut Creek or The City.
Eugene’s waaaay too big for me!
Wolf Creek’s more my size, but my job keeps me in Grants Pass.

For small towns; my wife and I like Elkton, especially Tomaselli’s restaurant. They serve great Italian based omelettes. ;)
We run up to Sisters occasionally for lunch at the Sisters Hotel (not a functioning hotel.)
Also to Gracie’s Sea Hag in Depoe Bay for the best crab omelettes in Oregon.

Thanks for sharing the road route....say, is someone (such as myself) doesn’t motorbike, would a road like this be something that an ordinary car driver (with others on a trip to the area) could enjoy? (After all, scenery is scenery, correct?) :-)
Very scenic...
I love Sisters. The Anthony Lakes area up above there is wonderful.
Sumpter’s also really neat, with miles of wilderness around it. They’ve got that cool mining dredge on display, and in the summertime they have a huge flea market that takes up a lot of the town’s streets.
The summer-only road to Anthony Lakes is astounding in its beauty, also.
Don’t we live in a beautiful state?!
See ya’,
Ed
I agree 100%!
Another great Summer only road is the Old McKenzie (242) Highway which runs from 126 to 20 at Sisters.
WE do we live in a beautiful state, Ed!!
