Thanks to the techno geeks at FR our family after much thought are a happy owner of a 60 in HDTV Wega. The Wega is in tandem with two other tv screen one of which I am wireless posting.
So really happy and it was a whole lot of work on my behalf but the crew of techno geeks helped sort out the salesmen pitches.
So NOW I want new advice. Since King Vanity and I are more home bound and I am working around from shift to shift and with his needs I can't get out to do a 40 min hike without an RN to be here I have been working on innovative breaks from 24 hr care.
I love my "lil pony" which is a tame version of the mechanical bull, I can walk around the property at 10 min at a time without his needing supervision for health care needs.
So excepting this new phase of life I want something I love but can't leave to do but have a huge area on the other side of our home where I can hear him or watch him on a tv monitor.
I want a pool table...a full size, pro and I have the room.
So the forum is open.
I don't have people in or out of our home other than volenteers or vendors...basically I will be playing myself but better than cards or internet all the time.
So the suggestions are welcomed for companys, and consumer watch, and what would you have done better if you could re do your pool table room.
Thanks.
Dismiss the pics of the human and laugh at the “angelic” boyz.
they are good but when mom is working (at home mind your) they are like lil jerks.
I just try to act like the Dog Whisperer.

I'm getting ready to replace the felt on mine and shopping the nets for good prices. I will do it myself. I worked in a pool hall back in the early 60's and did it a lot back then.
Ok so before I agree to a purchase I need to have ALL these points in contract?
Reason I ask...if you move the table, removing staples is easier and you can re-use the cloth.
I like the tan cloth vs green..but it's a personal preference. Tan seems to make the playing surface brighter. ;^)
Also, we have house rules...no jumping balls allowed...especially when there are kids in the house.
Thanks for the tip on bees wax vs joint compound.
Those “pups” look like a handful. lol
Cesar Millan, the dog whisperer, is truely amazing. Watch him all the time.
Still waiting for the woman whisperer on tv. jk, jk. :-)
I use glue (haven’t done it in about 5 years) because you get a better stretch with more anchor surface.
When I worked in the pool hall, we weren’t worried about whether we were going to move them or not.
Glue takes longer and I would guess that people are going that way to save time for the most part.
Personally if I were going to replace my table, I would take my time until I found exactly what I wanted, and I wouldn’t rule out buying from an individual. I bought my current one from an individual (old Brunswick with a 2 piece slate..couldn’t afford the prices on the antique one piece units).
If you buy new, ask about how they set them up. Stapled cloth, material between the slate pieces etc etc.
Don’t make a decision till you have cleared that stuff up, cause they may tack on afterwards for any deviation from their normal install.
If you buy used, before you do, find a company that will move and install it to your requests. If they aren’t willing to do as you ask, find someone else.
Big Huge Announcment.
It’s A Brunswick Nascar Pro size!
It’s a Boy. LOL
Our Family has been through some medically/lifesyle changes.
It took me two months to come to some life balancing.....oh crap my blood disease is in 3yrs remmission without pharmacudicals and my quad son has lived through another bout of brain not reaching lungs/stomach and came back again.
I kept my faith but re invented the scales around here.
Sooooo I get my Nascar Brunswick Edition Pro pool table...right after we get the new carpet being wheelies we have commercial grade and are just repeating color ect.
But dang 20 yrs later the price sure went up and we are using the low bidders to install.
Well Thank You guys and yes on the rough days it might be the laundry folding table but I doubt it since I have one of those.
I am soo damn proud of my new relaxation toy...never done this before.
When KV was young we did it all travel, private fishing spot but he is 6ft and 170lbs his chair is not easily accepted and he is not a cute boy but a man who thrives in society with suction, trach think Superman but can feel every twitch in his body.
I thank God for giving me a venue and no matter what disfunctions every so many years he gives me my best freind and son back.
I am very grateful.
Thanks Guys..I got my cue sticks on the tri pod roller things so I can roll them away in case the 3 Labs trail blaze through they don’t destroy the rack.
BTW I picked Navey Blue with a blue dull slate cover.
I don't know a thing about shooting pool, but it sure sounds like fun.
Hope you and KV are doing well - sounds like he's doing better from the last time I saw one of your posts.
My two Lab girls are doing well - the young one is still in the crazy puppy stage, but she's settling down a little (I think).
Congrats Global! Sounds like you did it up right. A few final tips if I might.
Keep those balls polished as it will definately effect the playability of the game as will the humidity level in the tables room. Humidity shortens angles and makes the game alot tougher in my opinion.
The best billiard supply house I’ve found is http://www.seyberts.com/. Great service and prices.
Here’s wishing you and your family the very best. Keep on strokin my friend.
Thank You for all your help.
The fellow who set my new Brunswick up has been doing it for 34yrs. It is his business.
Got the new baby yesterday! 8-21-07
Here it is!

Table looks great! Good pick on model and installer.
I’ve played fairly regularly for 45 years now and have yet to tire of the game. Feel free to keep me posted on your progress. Good luck to you.
P.S. Based on the picture, if we were playing the game of rotation where the lowest numbered ball has to be made first? I’m jumping over the 14 and making the one ball. No, I won’t rip the cloth. lol Regards.
Due to chronic back injury/pain I can’t bend over anymore (28 yrs of toting my quadroplegic son around and a horse ride gone bad) I walk around to my shot and then sit on my armless wheelchair to take the shot. Works perfect.
Son says I can’t do that. Sure I can.
Also we enjoyed watching the 3 Labradors running to fetch the balls and looking around in the air wondering where they went. Hee hee. Used the cue sticks to tap their noses when they tried to get the balls off the table once they figure out they don’t go airborne.
A big “NO NO”. Don’t touch Mama’s table. “LEAVE IT”.
Glad to hear you’re able to manage the table shots. The dogs chasing the balls must be a sight to behold.
Really like the looks of that table and you can’t go wrong with a Brunswick. Lots of pool videos on youtube.com if you’re interested.
Best regards to you, the family and of course the dogs. Take care my friend.
