[history]
Here's a sad story with a bizarre twist: Last year, a 6-year-old girl was accidentally strangled to death by her family pet, a golden retriever. Such animals are usually euthanized, but in this case, the dog was treated to an all-expenses paid trip to an animal center in California.

They are beautiful. I just love the beautiful blue eyes of the Siamese.
To: beckysueb
They are extremely elegant eyes. They do vary from coat color to coat color - the Seal Points have deep blue sapphire eyes, while the Blue Points have a lighter blue and the Lilacs' eyes are really almost Wedgewood Blue.
I bred and showed Siamese for about 15 years back in the 70s and early 80s. Cat shows are like bench dog shows . . . only more boring. Never again. It's dog trials from here on out for me.

I’ve heard of some living up to 20 years. It depends on a lot of different things. Some breeds are longer lived than others. Past injuries or illnesses can have an effect too.

Thanks PJ ... and where is Millie? LOL

We think our late Agnes was 18 when she died. We got her secondhand, so we weren’t sure how old she was.
It’s very common for cats to live to 15 or older, if they don’t go outdoors.

Interesting that the article failed to mention how the strantulation occured. It seems that would be a very important fact with regards to the outcome of that particular dog’s case.

Thanks for the additional insight. I was questoining the intent of the author due precisely to the reason he left out that vital information.

Ok thanks to you and Grizzled Bear for the info. In that case, Old Bob will probably be around awhile longer. Hes beginning to show his age.
To: Tax-chick
Bob is definitely an indoors guy. He is scared of the outdoors. He just lays up in the window and looks out.

Propaganda is funny like that.

Why is the driver’s side window the best? :) My dachshund is the same way.

In my dog’s case, I think she prefers the driver’s side becaue the passenger seat is usually unoccupied, meaning the footin is slippery and she can’t get up so high so look out.
I wonder along with whoever first asked it why dogs get angry when you blow in their face but stick their heads into a sixty mph wind stream and love it.

Oh who cares Gary Bauer. More moralising master of the obvious hot air from an irrelevant former presidential candidate.
