My husband and I have asked for the haunted room at various hotels but we have only had one experience. It was in Jefferson Texas at the old Excelsior Hotel. My husband got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. On his was back to bed he experienced a cold chill that made the hair stand up all over his body. He woke me saying he felt as if he had insects crawling all over him. I got up checked the bed and him found nothing. Just before drifting off to sleep I felt something on my cheek. I felt around for insects but found nothing. Next morning I was reading in the small diary provided for guests to record their experiences in the haunted room. A woman reported feeling a man’s beard or mustache on her cheek in the night. Ladies will tell you that NOTHING else feels like a man’s facial hair. I got a kiss on the cheek by the ghost of the Excelsior Hotel.
My only ghost(?) encounter...
In the early 90’s we were in Cape May, NJ and decided to visit one of their Christmas Shops. It was a house that had the porch and the room behind it as the shop, and the back room was where the register was. We were on the porch looking through things and I felt someone blow at the back of my head, a *puff* that I could actually feel. My first thought was that it was my husband but he was on the far side of the porch and there was no one else on the porch but us. I put it to my imagination but then it happened again in another part of the porch. Definitely I got no bad vibes from it, it really felt like someone wanted to play. My husband said he didn’t feel anything like it, so I don’t think it was a draft. We did buy something there, and when we went back to the register there was a dog in the anteroom off to the side (barricaded by one of those pet/baby gates), that was barking her head off. The lady at the register said “gee, she never does that.” Maybe the doggie felt the presence too.
