vanity post for film comments

I went and saw Pirates of the Caribbean last night with 3 of the kids and the Mrs.

It was a waste of time, money and bladder control.

The movie has been out for awhile so I doubt I'll ruin the plot by telling you what happens........ I doubt I'll ruin the plot cause I can't tell you what the plot is.

My comments are mainly about how disappointed I am considering the first movie was funny and smart. This film has been ruined by writers that want to make political comments about the Pirates battle for freedom. general lack of editing and what appeared to be an overdose of special effects.....or what????? Is it me or when did British or foreigners under thier control have rights of trial by jury? assembly? and whatever else was mentioned.

There was a nod to Braveheart when the female lead saw "all her fellow pirates" in a battle for "FREEDOM"??? huh?

The comments about this being "business and not personal" made my son laugh, then mouth the word "Godfather".

Could someone explain how the tentacle face betrayed the chick with the black teeth and ink on the face? Did they love each other? The "Matrix" effect with cannon and ships was way overdone and started to resemble "car crash" scenes with the neverending battles.

Is there going to be another sequel looking for the fountain of youth?

The movie has only been out for a week. Actually, not even. It opened last Friday.

In a sense, pirates are just like today's Democrats. They were selfish and greedy, it was always about them and they always wanted to have a good time with some else's money.

He is talking about the second Pirates of the C. I agree, No. 2 was lengthy and dull.

Ahh. It said “At World’s End”, which is the 3rd. I got confused. I enjoyed the second film, although I do agree that it could have been about 30 minutes shorter.

I’ve told my wife that I don’t get these movies. The first one was passable, but I believe I took a nap during the second. Still, she dragged me to the third.

Basically, it was overlong. They put in everything including the kitchen sink, felt obliged to put any and all characters from any of the other films in, and everything they tried to do seemed to take about 30% longer than it needed to.

Your mileage may vary, of course.

I went and saw it with my brother Monday and we had a good time...of course we spent the entire time making fun of it and laughing at each others comments....but...shooting the monkey out of the cannon was funny.

Monkeys are always funny. I think it’s a Man Rule.

.....

it feels like it's been out for over a year. It was the second part of the second movie...the "Director's Cut".

I still want the editors cut.

can you explain Davy Jones and Calypso's thing? My daughter tried to explain it and after about 5 minutes she started giggling and saying ,"I think they liked each other.....or something."
