I was in Deland last June, couldn’t wait to get out of there. It probably doesn’t look bad to someone that doesn’t remember it from late 60s/early 70s as I do. But AFAIC the place sucks now. Of course I feel that way about all of central Florida. I am so glad I left.
Don’t bet on Florida going Republican for pres in 08. Demographics are going in the wrong direction.

Isn’t Deland the home of Stetson University? And why can’t a veterans group take over the duty for holiday weekends, I’m sure there are many who would find it an honor to do so.
