I’m so sorry for your loss. My cat died a few years ago and I understand how painful this must be. I’ll keep you and yours in my prayers.

Very sad. Sounds like it’s time for her to bond with a new friend :-)

Not yet. Something occurred to me earlier today. Usually the girl sits near my wife and he would sit near me. All week she had been sitting right next to him. I think she realized he was really sick.

A few years ago they were both very prone to mats in the fur. Mrs Bear and I would take them into the bathroom, one at a time, to clean them up. When he was getting groomed (and howling blue murder) she would go hide. When it was her turn and she was squeeking he would sit outside the door. Like I said before he wasn’t your typical cat.

It seems like she was returning the favor.

God gave us the desire to domesticate animals and form attachments to them. I thing God did this to teach us our relationship with Him from his point of view.

Sometimes, just as we must do with our pets, God lets things happen for our good that might be unpleasant for us. Sometimes we understand but most of the time we don’t.

I understand the pain I feel is the palest shadow of what my Lord feels when I suffer. His desire is that we be reunited with him. I hope and pray that we will be allowed to bring a few friends.

A few weeks ago when the fella went back on antibiotics he started to show up at the time he was supposed to get them. He didn’t like it but I think he understood we were trying to help him.

I lost my beagle last October under a similar situation.

I’m so sorry. I know the ache is still there but I hope you have found some comfort.

We try to remember the funny things about Spooky. Like the way he was easily spooked by a noise and then would jump a mile in the air. Or the way he liked to sniff people.

Thank you for your kind words. Mrs Bear and I have been saying the same thing. When you look at some of the situations our pets could have been in - SHUDDER

I’ve been trying to comfort my wife about where animals go when they die. The best I can find is a verse in Ecclesiastes. Do you know of any references?

God bless,

GB

Whew, thanks for sharing such a warm memory. You’re so right, animals seem to know when others both human and non-humans are ill. I’m sure that she knew. He really sounds like he was a special little guy. I know when the time is right you’ll give someone else as loving a home as you gave him. Until then it’s comforting to know you have one left to share your heart.

They do know, but sometimes we don’t see it at first. My little Yorkie heard me say something about Pepper (who we lost a while back) and jerked her head around to look for her. I was so surprised, but I shouldn’t have been.

I’m very sorry for your loss, it will get easier to bear, but you’ll never have another exactly like the one you have lost. They are all individuals and beautifully different.

It is a very sad thing. I had to take a sick cat in last year. It was sadder than I ever expected even though he was 11 and very sick. I am sorry for your loss.

Our girl has been looking for him. It’s sad.

I also can relate, and know it’s hard. You and your wife are in my thoughts and prayers as well.

I know exactly what you’re going through. I hope you’re burden has lessened over time.

I keep second guessing myself. I wonder if I should have made the vet try to save him. Then I remember how sick he was and believe I made the right choice.

The real problem is I want my cat back.

Now I have to go deal with this blurry screen :*(

You both are in my thoughts and prayers, but just think how happy a day it will be when you go to the house our Father has prepared for you, and your dear, dear friend is waiting on the steps to meet you.

Thank you for your kindness. Do you have any scripture about pets and heaven? Or animals in general?

Thanks and God bless you.

Isaiah chapter 11 comes right to mind, but if that isn’t enough for you (and I can’t give you chapter and verse right this minute) it says in the Holy Bible that all things made by God return to him.

Also in Numbers chapter 22 the Ass that Balaam was riding ‘saw’ the Angel of the Lord standing in the path, and refused to go any further. Balaam did not see the Angel until it reproved him for beating the animal.

If the Ass could see the Angel, then I see no reason why those who have given us nothing but love, companionship, and comfort would not be welcome in the presence of Our Father.

Our four-legged friends are a true representation of His love for us.
