It takes place in the early 1800's in Northern England...during the Industrial Revolution.

A genteel, but strong willed young lady...(she was brought up in the southern part of England )...only daughter of a pastor & wife.

...has to relocate to the dirty, crowded town of Milton in Northern England because her father has fallen on hard times...

..She and her mother try to keep proper etiquette & manners, but the daughter can't help but notice the poverty and hardship around her.

She's quite kind & strong willed at the same time....

..and early on meets one of the main factory owners....a hard but handsome young man who scraped his way to the top...

..he owns a cotton mill.

It's instant dislike between these two....and so the tension begins.

The story is told well and much detail is given time, manners, clothing worn, etc.

The tension between 'Margaret' and 'Mr.Thornton' is palpable!

If you've seen Pride & Prejudice..Mr.Darcy..(Colin Firth)...

..you will LOVE John Thornton!...even more!

I so recommend this wonderful several hours long event!

Can you believe my husband found and bought this for me???!! :)
I think I will keep him :)
