Seriously, though, clerks at convenience stores dont bag a six-pack unless the customer requests it.Even so, in this case, the article suggests that drunks are running amok throughout Minneapolis, hailing cabs at every turn...........limited to the vicinity of the airport, mind you.
The article makes absolutely no sense.

“The new ordinance is very tough,” said Mekonnen Doyamo, an airport taxi driver for about 10 years. “It’s excessive punishment ... The new rules ruin our life totally.”
Then they need to leave on the next plane out of the USA. Either they adapt to the way we live or they get different jobs or go back to where they came from. Personally I don’t want to ride in a Muslim cab right now, I don’t feel safe. I’ve heard too many stories about the taxi drivers being rude & abusive from people I know who fly. I am sick of whining Muslims.

The fancy Duty-Free packaging would be a give-away..

I really want to show up at their taxi line, drunk off my ass and waving a bottle of vodka in one hand and a BBQ pork sandwich in the other, with a Mohammed-bomb-turban T-shirt. To hell with these dirtbags. Back to Somalia in packing crates for all I care.

The fancy Duty-Free packaging would be a give-away..Yeah, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the first thing the majority of travelers do before they step foot on or after they step off of an airplane is to buy a big ol' bottle of Gallo wine.

Setting aside the airport issue, how do the cab drivers handle bar calls for customers who had too much to drive?
What happened to all the MADD compaigns about calling cabs if you can't drive yourself responsibly?

“Their number is not just a little off; it’s a lot off,” said Ali Mohamed, a driver at the airport for eight years. “They are creating a hostile environment.”
Someone has been reading up on how to establish a discrimination claim. Hostile environment is a code word for “Pay me money because someone made me feel bad”.

"
It's excessive punishment ..."
I wonder how forceful islamites would "encourage" my adherance to their custom should I ever lose my mind and migrate to a muslimite nation?

Spin No.1
Things were relatively quiet at the airport Friday, the first day that taxi drivers faced tougher penalties for refusing to transport passengers with alcohol.
This implies the idea that new regulations were liable to be a presenting problem. The correct headline should have read:
'Things were relatively quiet at the airport Friday, after new regulations clamped down on disruptions caused by Muslim taxi drivers refusing to transport passengers with alcohol.'
Spin No.2
That doesn't mean, however, that anger, bitterness, hurt feelings, accusations and harsh words weren't expressed by many of the hundreds of taxi drivers affected by the MAC's new penalties.
While it may be true that hundreds are under the new ruling, it is doubtless that only the small fraction of radical Muslims will be affected. Just as rape laws pertain to us all, only a few freaks will be liable for the penalty.
Spin No.3
"The new ordinance is very tough," said Mekonnen Doyamo, an airport taxi driver for about 10 years. "It's excessive punishment"
No, the new ordinance only codifies what has always been a normal practice. The tough part, Mek (can I refer to you as Mek, Mek?), is that you don't want to assimilate and the majority don't want your primitive cult shoved down their throats.
Spin No.4
The new rules ruin our life totally.
No, your life can be whatever you wish it to be in America. Unless your life is making others bow to your moon god, then you have limitless opportunities. Hey, you can even run a taxi service boasting an 'alcohol-free-all-Muslim-all-the-time' theme. Then, after you've gone bankrupt and are living under a bridge because of your stupid business sense and murder-cult superstitions, you'd actually have a life that was reasonable close to totally ruined.
With all the layoffs at the Red Star/Trib, do you think I might snag a job as a local news editor?

I know someone who actually called for a cab to take them home and they did have a bottle or two from the event they were at. The cabbie was refusing to transport them with the liquor they weren’t going to leave the free stuff behind. In the end they were able to talk the cabbie into letting them place the booze in the trunk and then he did reluctantly transport them.
