No doubt, the coyote has a bad reputation in some quarters.
First, there's that unfortunate resemblance to a wolf.
Second, there's that unsavory habit of dining on neighborhood cats and small dogs.
The state Division of Fisheries and Wildlife is considering lengthening the hunting season on coyotes and foxes, already the longest for any game animals. And the agency wants to add coyotes to the list of "nuisance animals" that animal control workers are allowed to remove when necessary.
The proposal seeks to extend the coyote and fox hunting season so that it would run from the Saturday after Columbus Day (Oct. 13 this year) through March 8 and include the two-week shotgun season for deer.
Eastern coyotes are not longtime natives of Massachusetts. They appeared in the commonwealth only in the 1950s.

Ought to do like we do here in Arizony - year round coyote season. Four-legged variety, that is.
Two-legged coyotes are still protected...

Gin and raisins make a good side dish to go with your coyote main course- that and a little Heinz catsup. Or hey they could lock them in 66 oldsmobiles and send them for a swim of the bridge at Chappaquidik (excuse my spelling)
I’ve heard about this method for coyotes — bury an oldschool trap with a dead prey animal (rabbit) inside some of tube and fill in the desired entrance with nice easy to dig sand.
