Thanks for the clarification. I'll have to read Michael Wood's book to clarify everything further, but since you recommend Woods, I'll trust his opinion as a seeker of truth.

:') I just finished watching that DVD set again, and each time I do that, I hunt down something Trojan War-related to post, or ping one of the existing topics (most are found in the "trojanwar" keyword). While I am a catastrophist, and whereas there are references to quakes right in the Iliad, I share Wood's view that Blegen's idea of an earthquake-caused destruction of Troy VI (Dorpfeld's "war" Troy) is difficult to substantiate. I also think that Dorpfeld was right (have since high school, and before Wood's docu). :')
