1. Are you using WMP 11 on both computers?

2. Are you running anything on your desktop PC that could be slowing down the processor and interfering with the streaming video (check the task manager, ctrl+alt+del)?

2. there are a lot of services running, but since I'm not that computer literate I have Absolute Start Up installed and trust it to turn off everything I don't need.

I guess I could go into services and turn off everything that is running on my PC that doesn't run on my laptop.
