Brady makes eight figures in endorsements so a couple million dollars reallocated here and there (not lost, just moved around) aren’t the sacrifice being suggested.

Of course, the Boston media is going to beatify the guy as if he is the human embodiment of sweetness and light. Sure, he seems like a great guy and this is absolutely a great thing to do to keep winning. But he will be even richer if he can win another Super Bowl so this is strategically a great move for his own future income.
