Medicinal use is a ruse. Everyone knows it; it's an insult to even say it. It's no different than the fellows who used to carry around a flask of sherry "for medicinal purposes."
Give me a break.
There are plenty of other, effective options for nausea. People smoke pot because they want to smoke pot. At least have the decency to be honest about it.
Ever had cancer? Ever known anyone who has? Frankly, if all they want to do is get high to escape from the incredible pain, why is that any of your or the government's business? And no, I don't touch the stuff.
Please explain if you think morphine and other opiates should be banned because of their relationship to heroine. After all, there are other pain medicines, although some patients might (through their screams of agony) anectdotally claim they aren't as effective. And if not, why not? Seems awfully similar to me!
You are exactly right ... it's the same for the opium poppy too. It's all a ruse.
What's that !!! My 65 year old best friend and former mayor of a small delta town and hard core conservative finds that the only thing that helps his intestinal cancer pain is Marinol and Pot. He must be lying to get high .... string him up
Sounds like the loud voice of inexperience to me.
It's extremely effective as an anti-nausea drug, virtually instantaneous and has few undesirable side effects.
The only thing wrong with marijuana is it's illegal. There's no logic in that, only the brute force of the state focused by an ancient prohibitionist, Harry J. Anslinger.
Anslinger was desperate to keep his cadre of prohibition enforcers together, and so seized on marijuana as the "demon weed". He was as full of crap then as his successor prohibitionists are today.
There is no cogent medical reason for marijuana to be illegal. There is a huge (drug prohibitionist) industry interested in keeping it illegal, however.
