Im big fan of African music, and have probably 300 African CDs. After seeing the following video on YouTube, I went on a quest to get a copy. I finally ordered a Freddie Gwala CD from TowerUK, but this song isnt on it. Im still looking for a copy. The song is beautiful:

Apparently little Freddie got locked up in South African prison for a few years for stealing a bicycle. I'd sing a sad song about that too, but it wouldn't be very pretty. I sing like a frog.

My favorite Australian guitarist is Jeff Lang. He's just jaw-droppingly amazing. I saw him in a little basement bar in New York, and he's mindblowing. Great singer/songwriter too:

I never heard of Tommy Emmanuel before hes excellent. Thanks for the link.
Another guitar god is Richard Thompson. Hes great on the electric, but Ive never seen another human being who can play the acoustic like he can:

Richard Thompson is obviously a fine guitarist, but when he started singing I'm afraid he brought out my "strangle the folk singer" instinct. Sorry.
I hadn't heard of Tommy Emmanuel until recently. I followed a Little Green Footballs link to TE playing on YouTube a few months ago, and since then I've listened to dozens of his performances. He is self taught, and does not read music, but he can play anything he wants to. He uses his guitars for percussion, and they look it.
Chet Atkins gave his "Certified Guitar Player" award to only three other guitarists, and Tommy was one. Atkins had been Tommy's childhood idol. They ended up friends, and wrote songs together.
One more song, simple and slow, Angelina,
