It might be prudent to extract a copy of your product key (
Magical Jelly Bean is one free program to do so; there are probably others that can be found by searching for "product key recover") and save it, just in case you can't find it when you need to do a reinstall.

Great advice. I've always been lucky enough to have the key already on the back of the computer or on that MS hologram CD sleeve...which comes with no CD in it.
