Baron Davis scores 33 as the perennial NBA doormat Golden State Warriors steal game one from the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA playoff best of seven series. It is the Warriors sixth strait win over a Dallas team which had the best record of any club durring the regular season.
Yes, but Dallas is, well...Dallas. I wouldn't bet against them unless the Suns were playing them.
Me too, and I live in Dallas, and used to root for the Mavs, but I will not root for them until Cuban in gone.
Um, slews = slays? strait = straight? ;)
My NBA rooting interests have been all over the map. Grew up a huge Knicks in the early 70s (even though I lived in L.A. during the Chamberlain/West/Goodrich era), then lost interest when all my favorite players (Frazier, Debusshere, Reed, Lucas, Monroe) retired. Became a Celtics fan in the 80s (even though my hometown "showtime" Lakers won 5 titles during that time), but again lost interest when Bird retired. Liked the Olajuwon-era Rockets in the 90s, but was never too enthusiastic. Right now I'm pulling for Phoenix -- Steve Nash is about as entertaining to watch as any player I've ever seen.
The Warriors are going to win this series in 5. Dallas is done.
Davis' playoff performance will be remembered as one of the best in Warrior's franchise history.
Funny how Dallas brings that out in players, last year it was Dwayne Wade.
Well now Cuban can spend all of his time hanging out with his new Loose Change pals after the Mavs lose.
Uh Oh, the sleeping giant has awakened!
this sleeping giant only rolled over for a couple hot dogs. This is over for Dallas.
I thought they were dead when GS went up by nine.
Bad things happen when you don’t close a team out when you have the chance.
I’m a Suns fan it’s all good
The high highs and the low lows.....what a great series! The W’s will finish things up tomorrow night.
The key for Dallas is that Dirk cannot wait for the fourth quarter to get going, he has got to establish himself early.
Also, Dallas needs to take the approach of not letting Baron Davis beat them, they have to have two guys on him when he gets the ball. Golden State may still win, but Dallas has no shot if they can’t slow Davis down.
Congratulations to the Warriors. Now hopefully Cuban will sell the team and focus on making loopy conspiracy movies, and Dirk can take his gutless self back to Deutschland.
Bring on the Rockets. I don't like how GSWarriors match up against the Jazz.
Mavs are fortunate they didn't get swept.
