Video games make kids avid spectators of violence.
Spectators — consumers -— as they observe it or ‘commit’ pretend violence from a safe place.
Video games, I think, would make kids appreciative of violence because they are safe and removed.
Like spectators in the Coliseum, looking on while people get slaughtered.
Doesn’t make them brave.
I guess when you are in a plane and a few guys pull out boxcutters, that you will do nothing?!??!? Your life must not be worth living and your loved ones must be proud of you.
A lot of good they did. All that high speed equipment and training was all for nothing. The perp even did their job for them.
An armed robber came into the kitchen of a restaurant in my neighborhood. They beat the shit out of him with frying pans and threw him in the dumpster.
They've said this in one breath, and in the next reminded us to call 911, not to "do" anything on our own. How nuts is this? A roomfull of shooting victims might have an answer.
The article mentioned a persons name. That singles them out.
The only anger at this point should be toward Cho Seung-Hui.
WARNING: EXTREME LANGUAGE, VIOLENCE, LIBERAL STUPIDITY, AND HOOHAA AWESOMENESS http://youtube.com/watch?v=isdhEDWXg4I&feature=PlayList&p=A92AA97965D2A348&index=4 I just pray that push comes to shove, I will do my best no matter how many people deem my actions too "aggressive" or "cowardly".
It’s just another result of modern society.
We no longer care for each other, and kids are told from day 1 not to fight back, turn the other cheek, fighting never solved anything, do what the gunman says and you won’t get hurt, don’t be a hero.
Then you look at male role models now a days, do you see a John Wayne?
Men have been pussified by the modern liberal and feminist movements, and the fact that no one stood up and fought back, with the exception of a holocaust survivor who knows what life is worth.
They know how to call lawyers when they get offended, but they don’t know how to stand up for themselves and others.
(Sorry if my response seems a bit disjointed, I’m still getting over the flu)
-yep—IIRC, they caught him while he was reloading—
Anger? No, I’m not angry with the young men. I’m disappointed in them, and very sad for our country.
Second, we need to institute “mob defensive training” for all civilians. That is, anytime a gunman is holding three or more people, how he can be attacked and neutralized with the minimum loss of life. Tactics that are also useful on airplanes to take care of “troublemakers”. Passivity in the face of madmen and Muslims is a recipe for disaster.
Can you imagine the nannies, limpwrist, handwringers, lawyers, security bureaucracy, agents, police, officials, women, ladies, environmentalist, anti-gunners, men in stretch pants on bicycles with yellow Campari hats, Democrats, RINO’s, Judges, bailiffs, Sheriffs, Psychologist, nurses, teachers, Animal rights activists, NYMBIs or Administrators allowing that today?
I never said people did not do anything. Please re-read. There was ONE gunman and thousand of students. Everyone being interviewed hid, ran, or jumped out of window. If you are that sensitive, then stick to the Knut and celebrity posts.
Excellent point.
A real hero yesterday. Perhaps the only one (someone else may yet emerge).
You forgot windsurfers
“Stand by for some Freeper to come along and tell you how insensitive you are”
Miz hits the bullzeye again.
I will guarantee that if a gunman had entered a classroom of the Class of 1965 and started shooting people that he’d quickly have found himself at the bottom of the pile.
