A mountain lion found devouring a deer in a Boulder backyard has been relocated to the mountains northwest of the city. State wildlife officers tranquilized the 90 lb. cat and released it Thursday.
A man who saw the mountain lion in his neighbor's backyard called wildlife officers. He had noticed that the deer were acting strangely.
The man's wife told officers that the cat just stared at her husband.
It's not unusual for mountain lions to be seen in Boulder...

Warning to All Mountain Lions
Be careful with what you eat in Boulder County
Some good old Walker,Plotts and Redbone hounds could put the fear into those lions.
A good party hunt, with the dogs, could make those lions real skittish, and they’d relocate.
Can’t remember, can they still track these big cats with hounds there? Even if they aren’t hunted?
mountain lions and ‘cougars’ in Boulder !
Along with the immigration of city liberals from California and illegals from Mexico, Colorado has lost much of its rural hunting history.
The lefties have won elections banning the spring bear hunting season and they have made it tough on mountain lion hunters.
I am not sure if private lion hunters can use dogs ? I believe that the DOW still can.
Others here may know more ?
My method for quietly ‘handling’ such things would be to open a window about four inches and from the other side of the room carefully implant a copper jacketeted brain plug into the cat.
These 90 grain, copper jacketeted brain plugs are the neatest little thingys. All dietary needs for the cat would immediately cease. They lay down right where they are at and offer no resistance whatsoever to transportation from the area.
“Dear, you’re acting strangely?”
In the Everglades, the situation is quite different. Cats were removed only after adverse national publicity, and everyone, from whites to Indians were lied to about the removals, which were far from timely.
Florida long ago earned the nick name “FloriDUH” for the level of socialism which it has inflicted upon its self. FloriDUH signed the section 6 cooperative agreement part of the Endangered Species Act which gave the couguar in Florida “endagered species” status.
Colorado cats are the genetically identical to the “endangered Florida Panther”. The contortions of the scientists trying to avoid the data are most amusing. Having done a thorough DNA analysis of all such cats in the Americas, and after determining that ALL such cats in the USA are “genetically homogeneous”, one of the lead authors of that paper stated that she wanted the “endangered” status of the Florida cats to be retained as a legalism Despite her research results.
She Dr. Melanie Culver) is a good example of the “Gimme my check” mentality of all too many scientists. Their dedication is to the continuation of funding, not the continuation of legitimate endangered species.
Should anyone doubt the data or the twisted logic of such as Culver, go to www.EvergladesInstitute.org and look up the article “Genomic Ancestry of the American Puma.”)
Note the article states “the fifteen previously identified subspecies in North America are not affirmed.” Culver still wants your tax money to flow to the “scientific community” dealing with what her own paper identifies as a mistakenly identified subspecies.
Unfortunately, one of the consequences of such panther pandering/profiteering is that occasionally blood of child and adult humans flows into the hungry mouths of attacking panthers.
Just keep that cash flowing, and those human deaths are “a natural death” as was said after a high school student was killed and eaten while jogging near his high school.
But, that matters not to the panther panderers/profiteers. As Dr. Paul Beier said of large predators eating humans, “I’m comfortable with that.”
“Gimme my check” seems to be the agenda of bureaucratic scientists all across America. My suggestion to FReepers, and America in general, is REFORM ESA!
Excellent idea. Thanks for the response.

Duh! While it was being 'devoured' I guess it would act 'strangely'...
The liberals in Boulder are rather slow...
