Good morning everybody. I don’t recall seeing a press conference as riveting or compelling as yesterday’s Duke LAX presser in a very long time. What Nifong put those poor families through is criminal and I hope they throw the book at him.
Isn’t it sad that the direct and accurate characterization by the NC GA on Nifong’s motives and behavior is the rare exception? We need a lot more people who are willing to speak out, talk plainly and do what’s right for a change in this country. Hopefully there will be some chain reactions and housecleanings throughout various judicial offices throughout the nation after this.
I’m also interested to see if any police are brought under scrutiny and penalized for their actions in this railroading. The president of Duke Univ. ought to be ashamed of himself as should those students and teachers who so quickly condemmed these boys, presuming them guilty from the start.
prairiebreeze, I think that the president of Duke should resign. He was absolutely ineffective in defending those kids' rights if not outright hostile to them, and what about the lacrosse coach that was forced to resign?
And what about those 88 professors?
If I were a Duke alumni, I would withhold contributions until there was a thorough housecleaning.
Agree with you MM. And I also want to know about Nifong’s assistants/ADA’s and what they knew and when they knew it.
As officers of the court they too, were responsible to call a halt to this bogus proceeding the minute it was apparent there was no evidence. I’m thinking Nifong pressured them to keep mum in order to win the election.
One of the neighbors here is very sympathetic to all issues pertaining to women and started to say that the boys were let go for “political reasons”. Boy, did Mr. Prairie and I waste no time in setting her straight...sheesh.
There are two “ladies” in the case that need to be hammered.
Was a couple hours east of Indianapolis yesterday in Springfield for the dedication of the national “Honor Flight” headquarters. Will be letting you all know when I get a thread up in a few days but I hope all with WW2 family /friends still living will get those men/women on the waiting list for free flights to DC/WW2 Memorial.

All of those people hurt by false accusations, where is the outrage now like the one caused by Sharpton and Jackson, could it be that those 2 caused the chaos over Imus’s comment to take away from the fact that one of their own attempted to ruin all of those people’s live’s with her LIES?
