Yes, that was the consensus the first time around. It’s closest to that. It’s systemic now, not contact - altho it seemed like contact at first.
All I’m doing is putting hydrocortisone cream on it when the itching is unbearable, which happens when I’m stressed. Mostly, I just run them under cold water when it’s not quite so bad.
Another FReeper had almost the same thing, except just in the webs between the fingers and her Dr. didn’t know for sure, either. But he started by seeing if it was scabies - and I haven’t seen that poster again, so I don’t know the outcome.
It really did seem like it could have been mites biting at first - 100s of tiny bites - paper mites, is what I thought. But now it just arises on its own.
I also thought maybe a fungus type thing like athlete’s foot - it started when I was scraping out the insides of some sugar pumpkins at Thanksgiving and had microscopic scrapes on my knuckles and fingers - and pumpkins had some kind of bad fungus year - so I thought that was a possibility.
Even after I washed all my clothes inside out 3 or 4 times it was still there. I had been and still am going through a lot of stress so now we think it is shingles.
Like you, I have tried hydro-cortisone cream, but found aloe worked better for me. It’s quite inexpensive and most drug stores carry it.
Before I started using aloe I was even scratching them while I slept and I’d wake up with blood all over my sheets. That hasn't happened since I started using Aloe gel.
Just a thought, because I know what you are going through.

IMHO, if it’s a fungus, it wouldn’t hurt to try Lamisil AT (not the AF) sure, it’s for atheletes’feet, but it also works for fungus on body - I know a diabetic that gets funguses in wierd places - top of legs, lower legs back neck hands etc. Lamisil AT’s a bit pricy at around 15 bucks a tube but if it fixes the problem it’s worth it
FWIW, you might have your doc check you for MRSA - staph infection - a lot of time staph outbreak (tiny intensely itchy pustules almost like poison ivy pustules) will allow fungal component to breed when pustules weep.
Best wishes !
Do the blisters get watery? Cold water makes feel better and brought on by stress are two huge clues to find a cure.
