If we don't get control of ourselves and our emotions, the Defeatocrats will keep using the MSM to split us even more, and then they win.

IT IS ABOUT TIME THAT WE VOTE FOR A CONSERVATIVE PERSON WHO WOULD LIKE TO BE PRESIDENT. IT HAS BEEN TOSSED AROUND THAT FRED THOMPSON WOULD MAKE A GOOD PRESIDENT. WHERE IS HE?
THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT HAVE RECENTLY LOSSED THEIR SEATS IN CONGRESS THAT WOULD BE GOOD CANDIDATES. EG ALLEN AND JD AND WHAT ABOUT THAT CLEAN AND ARTICULATE BLACK MAN, JC WATTS?

Its time that Jim starts looking around and suspending or closing some accounts for this type of behavior until it gets under control. Especially the ones that disagree with you, right?

One single word.
“comprehensive”.
That’s what happened. It’s that simple.

American politics has ALWAYS been a full contact sport. The more that is on the line, the harder the hits. If you can’t handle it, take up knitting.

It’s time that Jim starts looking around and suspending or closing some accounts for this type of behavior until it gets under control. Except for this statement, I agree with you 100%.
Civility is sorely lacking around here these days. BUT, you cannot place the burden on Jimrob for our own actions! Jimrob and the Mods have a full time job keeping it all together as it is.
Instead we must ask ourselves, What can we do to make it better? We are the ones responsible for the hostilities, because we are the ones being hostile. The blame falls squarely on our shoulders.
Liberty demands the greatest of self-restraint and individual responsibility.

Not according to the Libertarians here.

I agree.
We’ve been around for about the same amount of time. I have seen FR decline in it’s civility and it is disturbing. I have to leave for a while, but I always come back. It’s that FR pull.

I have seen posters here demean others, insult integrities, bash people they DONT EVEN KNOW ON A PERSONAL LEVEL, and generally look like some of the slime that lurks on DU.Do you mean personal attacks and vitriole like these that I've copied from some of Howlin's posts on this thread which is about how we should be trying to be "civil" with each other?
"Ive seen them; they are idiots and should be ignored."
"Dear Clueless:"
" I think for myself and dont need talking points from a bunch of losers to tell me what to think."
"No, they're about creepy people like you who think you know what's best for the rest of us."
"That theyre stupid as a post?"
"Speaking of dumb as a post, you're right on schedule. "
"It must suck to be you."
"We were told flat out by one of the resident prigs today that we weren't welcome here."
Pot call kettle black, indeed.

Fred Thompson better hurry up and jump into the race so we can be “for” somebody and not just settle for some marginal figure that we hope might beat Hitllary.

I find merits in most of the candidates running early on the Republican Party's ticket, save McCain. However, it's much too early to pledge support to any of them. In this age of gamesmanship and fault finding, gotcha politics and blue journalism, none of the front runners is immune to nor can stand up to the scrutiny that occurs during a presidential campaign without damage to their character and credentials.
The process of selecting a leader of a conservative agenda will be a trial by fire conducted by those within and those outside. Once a candidate is selected, the fires will rage, unfairly, slanderously and maliciously to deny the success and further divide the conservative base. So here we are. Consider the alternative. Consider a Hillary (and Bill), an Obama.....or a Pelosi to follow. Consider the damage to the country that even a single term by a Democrat front runner could bring to us. Remember Carter.

WE ARE CONSERVATIVES, first and foremost. What about the 10% of FReepers who are pushing the MOST LIBERAL Republican to ever seek the presidency and who cheer his leftist social agenda.
