If we don't get control of ourselves and our emotions, the Defeatocrats will keep using the MSM to split us even more, and then they win.

I could post a thoughtful, well-reasoned, grammatically correct response to this...Or I could post a nasty Keyword. Decisions, decisions...
Seriously though, I agree with you about everything but mass bannings. FreeRepublic is like a core sample of the Republican party and if all we are is a bunch of nasty snark-meisters, well, I think we need to face that and deal with it, not try to ignore it.

It’s time that Jim starts looking around and suspending or closing some accounts for this type of behavior until it gets under control.

I think that's JimRob's call exclusively, not yours.

Yours is the second post I've seen equating FR with the scumbags in DU. If you find FR to be so repugnant, then don't soil yourself, the back page key serves to remove one from an offending page.

There's a fair degree of heated rhetoric here and I've made a point of not posting on those threads even though I have a very strong interest in the outcome. It keeps me from offending as well as taking offense.

You might find yourself well served to avoid what you find offensive. It'll keep your blood pressure down and your sensibilities from suffering damage.

It took Ronald Reagan many years to get elected. And even then it was a convergence of events that helped sweep him to power. We may have to wait awhile for it to happen again. First, we need the right candidate. Second, the country needs a hero. I see no candidate or hero in our ranks. We may be in the darkness for a long time. This calls for patience, fortitude and hope.

What drew me to FR was the flaming of my occupation as a bunch of JACK BOOTED THUGS. If it had not been for the flaming, I would not have become a member. One of the most attractive aspects of FR is the passions of posters. About the only thing I take offense to is, a-holes accusing other Freepers of being peds and beastialists with no proof!

[ If we don't get control of ourselves and our emotions, the Defeatocrats will keep using the MSM to split us even more, and then they win. ]

The democrats can/could never split the republican party..
They are not smart enough..

George Bush is the one that has fractured the republican party ON PURPOSE..

Over immigration, fiscal spending, Sandy Berger, the border guards, and other bending over for democrats.. i.e. not fighting back..

The MsM is not splitting us, the White RINO House is..
ON PURPOSE with malice aforethought so that Hitlery will be elected.. Either George is stuck on stupid or he is well aware of what he is doing.. I believe he is NOT STUPID..

Good thoughts...great post, but it’s going to take far more than a single, well thought out post to get the herd back into a pack. We live in very hatful times.

While many factors played into the final results, we lost the 2006 election because we failed to fight as a group. We can kiss the Whitehouse goodbye and bow to president Clinton if we don’t fight together.....and quite frankly, the Traitor Party knows this fact and uses it to great advantage.

I’m really getting old. I still think it’s way too early for us to be passionate about the next presidential election, unless it’s about wanting to assure it’s not a “surrender” Democrat. And to prove I’m old, this is one more thing that Jimmy Carter inflicted on America since his running early led to his primary victory in Iowa and convinced all that want to be president to run 2 years before the elections.

United we stand, divided we fall. There is no better way to eliminate the resistance than to confuse people with fiction mingled with fact.
The MSM Presidential draft is in progress. The MSM is selecting our next Presidential candidates by running a popularity contest. The presidential prize of late is how many millions of dollars was raised as if that is the meter of what makes a good leader.
Then theres the retreat equals defeat crowd. Defending basic freedom and helping oppressed people who have a desire to be free to many, is no longer a noble mission.
There are literally millions of graves filled because of the defense of freedom in the 230 plus years of the USA.
Yet people come unglued when volunteer soldiers make the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of freedom. The fact is that there are more people murdered in the streets of America on a daily basis then there are soldiers killed defending freedom. The outrage seems to be very misguided.

And President Bush has been under a relentless attack ever since before the 2000 election. How he has been able to sustain his focus is nothing but sensational. The daily attacks by the same dirty dozen democrats is nothing but a smokescreen to cover up their impotence as leaders who can accomplish a job. There has been very little meaningful legislation come from congress over the past 8 years. So who is not getting the job done? The boss, or the workers?

I see the same exact things in people as you do. We are becoming a fragmented society and that is exactly what the leftists want and need to gain power and hold on to power.
The people are very powerful. But only when united. I am not sure people have the will to want to work to protect our country. But it is definitely not too late to regain control of the runaway government.

Great rant and I couldn’t agree more. The ad hominem attacks have to stop. Those who are guilty don’t even seem aware that they are doing it. If people have personal beefs, take it to freepmail or step away from the computer for awhile. No one wants to hear it and it is distracting and annoying.

It is extremely early in this race, the leading candidates that have announced are far from acceptable to a large majority of us. Yet, day after day on this site we have the Rudy machine, the McCain people, Mitt’s people, and every other supported candidate backer posting missives about their guy.

So?

I disagree with you. I see the current tempest as nothing new. Anytime a real wedge issue of the right comes to the forefront, these fights take place. It has gotten this bad many times in the past. Don't you remember? Remember all the fighting over Bush as Republican nominee? FreeRepublic fights have actually spawned a number of alternative wannabe sites from various losing factions.

Frankly, I think these fights are healthy.

No problem! All we have to do is pre-agree to vote for whatever blockhead the Republican nominee finally is no matter how revolting his policies about state-funded abortion or handgun registration may be to us. Once we have deposited our troublsome principles at the door all will be sweetness and light.

I find myself staying away from the posts of any thread that has a candidate's name in the headline. I will just read the article and keep my own counsel. A shame because there are things to be learned from some posters but when you have to wade through the ugly with each other? No thanks.

What disgusts me the most are the posters who declare they will not vote if their man is not the candidate. Men have fought and died for us to have the privilege to vote and some want to throw that sacrifice away? *SPIT*
