It has almost come to the point of "The Book People" in Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451....when all books were outlawed and burned, people who cared about them sequestered themselves and memorized the books so that they could be re-published again when a time of enlightenment returned to the world.
Sane and normal family ethics appear to be headed toward the same fate. People who care about such things need to sequester themselves and retain the goodness of the world until the Darkness that has descended upon us is driven away.
