I’ve seen people make those claims on other dogs lists I’m on, not to mention when people start emailing it to absolutely everyone. I always take those with a grain of salt; this is something I’m not taking with a grain and it is important and I am irritated that it was moved to chat.
Well of course this should not be taken with a grain of salt. I also believe that this is very important. There are ramifications for our own food supply. This absolutely needs to be investigated completely and adjustments made in the way we do things here.
The only point I was trying to make is that the frivolous email forwards that people pass along without bothering to check to see if they are true or not are partly to blame for delays in action being taken. And it possibly could explain why there was a lag time getting this very important information to the public. It could also be true that there was just plain negligence or an attempt to cover up. I don’t know.
I don’t remember people getting this over wrought during the peanut butter or spinach problems.
I’m an animal lover myself. I can surely understand the pain that owners are going through who have lost their pets. They have a right to be angry. This isn’t over yet and still there are things to be learned. I don’t think there is enough information yet to make any judgements about what really happened.
