South Park, the cartoon series that has pushed the bounds of taste for a decade, has perhaps produced its most spectacularly offensive episode yet.

So what they did to the Queen was more offensive to Brits than the blasphemous way the show portrayed Jesus Christ?

Your thought was also the first I had.

It's more shocking/offensive to show the Queen shooting herself, than someone defecating on Jesus, the flag, et al.?

Perhaps I don't share as much in common with the Brits (or at least the one that wrote that crap) as I thought.

My faith is far too strong to be shaken by South Park, Sponge Bob or the Teletubbies (sp?), yet these people are devastated about some negative reference to another human being?

?? Jesus is one of the most lovable characters on the show.. I still get a little misty eyed when I see the Christmas episode where Jesus is sitting all alone with a birthday cake singing sadly Happy birthday to me... That is actually a pretty telling statement IMHO.

It's called hyperbole - some 'news' papers do it all the time to try to get an emotional response from their readers. Actually, lots of freepers use it too
