Nice catrfish.
Snagging season for spoonbill started March 15th here at Lake of the Ozarks and runs through the end of April. I got about 30 nice crappies off my dock Sunday night, consumed half with wife's cousins and froze the rest in bags.
Where is this place we're seeing in the pix ?

Sounds as if you have found a good place. Ditto for us here in Missou. Deer, turkey, fish of many kinds. Drive north of the Ozarks Plato about 50 miles and you're in pheasant and quail country.

Looks kinda like what we call a "bluecat" around here.
There are some reports of "Mississippi Whites" occasionally, but I don't think I've ever seen one.

No doubt Georgia has some big uns. A few years ago, a guy pulled a 92 pound spoonbill out of this lake. They snagged it with a treble hook on wire line near the confluence of the Big and Little Niangua rivers. Never did get it into the boat but landed it on shore on some guy's yard.

Wow! Our flatheads {my favorite for taste} usually have a yellowish color.
40 lbs is considered pretty big. Cool pics!
