Carol said she doesn't think the teens meant to intentionally hurt her son but that they did. She said she wants other parents to be aware of the incident. They punched her son in the groin & abdomen, but didn't intend to hurt him????? Okaaaaay.....

mommy fighting his battles for him at 13 is going to ruin this kid for life.
dad, if there is one around, needs to teach this kid how to fight.
- When attacked, swing HARD at the nose.
- If it is a stituation where there are more than one attacker, all rules of "fighting etiquette" are off the table - meaning go for the balls and/or eys.
this poor kid is going to have a tough life if someone doesn't step in and teach him to manup.

Our daughter is 25 and just married. But she and her friends always joked that they just wanted to find a guy who went to Man School.
They would joke about dating men who wanted to talk about their feelings, the thread count on the sheets they just bought and hair care products. Heck, that's why they had their girlfriends!
Fortunately, she found a man much like her daddy.

hard to believe that so many posts on this thread actually blame the victim , again, as is a norm apparently here on FR.....
I'll bet this kid was a skinny, little guy....I don't associate HS golf types as the aggressive burly types, so why would we expect this young kid to come bouncing back at his tormentors...for all he knew, it was a sanctioned deal what with a coach and other players sitting right there......
I'd guess if Mom did nothing, this behavior would continue on and on and on.....
maybe the weak ones are the ones who let it go on and on and on and do nothing about it?
