"I take it you are a big supporter of "designer babies" and you think that "globs of cells" should be tested in the womb and if everything doesn't meet the parents specifications then the "glob of cells" should just be "discarded"?
To answer your question: NO, I'm not.
I'm pro life for my people. The more of us, the better. There is strenght in numbers.

There is nothing wrong with the baby. She's not a blunder. The parents are the ones who are wrong.

Ha! What parents have ever met their child of 15's expectations?

That made me laugh :-)
But you're wrong. It looked like Bashful. That little sneak wasn't so shy after all!

And what of the best interests of the child? Is her best interest served by knowing her skin color did not please her parents?

My fear exactly. Perhaps they are just over imbued with a sense of justice and believe they are doing the best thing, but I'm cynical, as usual. I am certain I would not put my child thru this.

Couldn't she have discarded her before she was born? Didn't they know before her birth that something was wrong with it? OMG!
What did you just say?

Since this couple is mixed race, I don't believe racism is what is motivating them.
It sounds like they are exagerating their pain and anguish in order to collect on a malpractice suit. They already proved the screw up was due to the technician. He doesn't have big enough pockets so they are going after the owner of the clinic.
They aren't racist. They love their daughter. They are like many Americans and are trying to get a big payoff from the legal lottery.

"we are reminded of this terrible mistake each and every time we look at her"
OMG.
Just for feelings sakes I'd never say this even about a pet.

Totally separate issue. Love the child, hate the child, want the child or not, the clinic screwed up hugely and should be made to feel the pain of their carelessness.

And if that cannot be done without also letting the child feel the pain of not being quite up to snuff? Sorry, my kid would come first, your mileage may vary.
