My understanding is that the state bar can disbar him for a specified time, or permanently.

I'm under the impression that they can disbar him for five years. After that point, he can re-apply for admission but the bar is not obligated to grant it.

Not sure if that means he could NOT legally continue in his elected office, but I would think that would be enough to do in der Nifongfuhrer.

I was shocked to read that there is no provision in NC that would terminate his salary if he is disbarred. Have read that the legislature is working on this.

You may be right on the terms of disbarment. Here's hoping that it will be the least of his worries.
