That Linus Torvalds, creator of the Linux operating system, prefers the current version of the General Public License, GPLv2, over the version in development, GPLv3, is no secret. But in a lengthy E-mail response to questions from InformationWeek, he offers a full explanation of what he thinks is superior about GPLv2.
Torvalds says he regrets that the authors of GPLv3 have decided to take aim at political opponents. He has little patience for statements about the "evil and immoral" nature of proprietary code or the "TiVo-ization" of Linux (a reference to set-top box producer TiVo producing a device that runs only one version of Linux), both statements made by Richard Stallman, founder of the Free Software Foundation and one of the authors of GPLv3. "Me, I just don't care about proprietary software. It's not evil. ... It just doesn't matter," Torvalds says. If the authors of GPLv3 try to impart bans on digital rights management and prohibit other perceived evils, they will clutter up the simplicity of GPLv2 and end up telling people what they can or cannot do with GPL software. "The real basic issue is that I think the FSF simply doesn't have goals that I can personally sign up to," he adds.

Really? Name one here. But over the last few days you've slithered away after being exposed as a liar over Torvalds' "180" on the GPL3, and after getting beaten down for your very uninformed posts about SCO (you had to retreat to personal attacks on Groklaw again).
You searched for Feist and didn't know how it applied. That is clear evidence that you were in way over your head in that discussion. In fact, you seem to be way in over your head in most discussions. But you get frustrated when this is exposed, and you quickly devolve into personal attacks and misdirection.
Are you saying they just switched to Windows? Way back when you claimed they ran Linux (and when Netcraft showed only Linux), I looked at their site and noticed certain clicks went to ASP pages. Then I viewed the source on their pages, which showed they were running the RedDot CMS system, which only runs on Windows.
You were told this back then, before the hosting service likely changed their proxy servers to allow IIS to show through to Netcraft. But you still couldn't admit you were wrong, even though you were only relying on Netcraft.
When shown the truth, all you could do was go on personal attacks, as you just did.
They perfectly prove you're once again lying, when you say I'm the one posting the personal attacks LOL. You talk in so many circles you can't even keep up with the obvious.
There's no evidence that he changed his position on the GPL3, so instead you go off claiming he honestly suggests to "whack" people and dominate the world. When faced with your lie, you went on a personal attack against him, as usual.
You do the same at Groklaw. When faced with court documents and transcripts you don't understand (can you say "Feist"?) and trouble your false perception of SCO as an honest company protecting its assets, you rant against the site itself. Sorry, but no matter how much of a leftist loon PJ is, the documents speak for themselves. And Groklaw is the single best source for them (far better than SCO's sad attempt).

What was a fact, your personal attack? Or are you talking about real facts, like Torvalds still rejects the current GPL3, or that SCO's case is falling apart and their claim of millions of lines of infringed code was a lie? Or that Planned Parenthood runs Windows for its web front end? Come on, bet back to debating facts if you dare.
As for any "defense," I may not agree with the philosophical approach to software of Stallman and PJ (and even you), but I have a problem with people spewing lies about others as you are wont to do.

I myself have stated that Groklaw is great if you only read the documents and avoid the editorials, so any attack you make on PJ's credibility is merely a distraction. You have never successfully attacked the credibility of the posted documents, so you go off on a sideline rant about the editor's beliefs.
But you still lose because the facts of the case are against you, as always. Your attempts to bring up leftist strawmen so you can knock them down are pathetic. Your attempts to libel Torvalds are even worse.
If you can't argue the facts of the thread then quit posting. As with last time, I have lost patience since it doesn't appear you'll slither away like you did the last two times you were proven wrong. I won't reply again unless you can actually argue the facts of the thread.

However, you can't dispute the court filings and transcripts at Groklaw. Go ahead and try if you actually want to debate facts. Go to SCO's site and find some documents that refute the documents posted at Groklaw. But I warn you, some of those documents were copied from Groklaw.
