...after I mixed about a 1/4th of a can of Iams in with the dogs dry food and put some in a bowl for my cat - he loves the gravy and meat of the dog food much better than cat food.

Supposedly, cats need a much higher level of protein than dogs do, so from what I've read, I wouldn't recommend feeding your cat with dog food over the long term. Supposedly dogs can get by with less protein over the long term.

Might there be a gravy product especially for cats? I know that some cat foods have more gravy than others.

I feed him dry cat food but I give him a little of the canned dog food gravy and meat as a treat once a day.

I started last summer when he had an injury and lost a lot of weight, I mixed it in his dry food and he would eat.

That and the silver probably saved his life.

He doesn't really like the canned cat food except for one or two and then sometimes he doesn't like them either.
