While I don't advocate the death penalty, if teenagers over the age of 14 faced criminal prosecution for these affairs, there would be a lot fewer of them.
Certainly, if you have reached 14, you should take responsibility for your acts and obey the law. If you robbed a bank or shot someone, they would not hesitate to throw you in jail. Why should this be an exception?
The "boy" was 18 years old. What crime did he commit that warranted criminal prosecution?
While having an affair with a married woman may be morally repulsive, it's not a crime.
I'm OK with that, and it would reinforce that they are not really victims.
A mature teenage boy can not be the victim of an attractive older woman -- unless there were serious extortion going on, which is another matter altogether.
