You may not be a fan, but Rush deserves to get in. They have had hit albums for over thirty years now (2002's Vapor Trails debuted in the top 10, as did 1996's Test For Echo, 1993's Counterparts, etc.), with the same three guys (aside from the debut record). They have influenced a generation of bassists, heck musicians in general. They still sell out when they go on tour. Why shouldn't they get in?

The real shame is that Chicago (especially Terry Kath-era), Neil Diamond (not a hard rocker, but great entertainer and songwriter), and Carole "Tapestry" King are not in! Heck, Carole King influenced the Beatles, and they covered one of her songs on their *first* album.

Sigh. Then again, I'm the guy who also thinks Weird Al needs to get in, since the whole thing is a joke anyway.

Dead on all points...even Weird Al. He has sold more records and entertained more people than half of the jokes Jann has snuck in there.
