I don't blame the guys for making a buck. It is kinda sad to see a Credence Clearwater Revisted playing w/o a John Fogerty though. Talk about grasping at straws.

And this surprised you?

I'm a Dylan guy all the way. If not for Dylan, the Band would have been a footnote in the history books.

Is Levon Helm still kicking?

One of my friends got up and sang with them.

Probably a big improvement. Too bad he didn't play the violin too.

I did not expect this to be a suicide at all...this breaks my heart ...

Me too. This is a sad bit of news. Very sad.

LOL..ok I am with you on the Cobain suicide thing and wearing a black armband. But I did take offense to the casino slap because Boston is to this day one of the biggest rock bands of all time and did not sink that many notches down the venue pole like Night Ranger or Quiet Riot.

Levon Helm is working a lot. Not getting rich though but he loves playing. He hates Robbie Robbertson for cheating him. You can google it.

What about Molly Hatchet.I think there's only one original member left and it isn't Danny Joe Brown. The new lineup does kind of kick ass though. The singer sounds alot like DJB.

Yeah back in October he had a bad motorcycle accident...I wonder if he had a head injury from it and like Michael Hutchence...something snapped inside them.

Looks like it, but you couldn't tell by me. I'd never heard of him until his death and I live in NH. Of course there are (otherwise right-thinking) people who believe the music was just getting good in the '70s and that's exactly the time I pretty much tuned it out because it was so horrible.

Nobody blows away Rush live...c'mon...I like Rory...but blew Rush off the stage? I mean 82 was their Signals tour...a tour that was incredible beyond words for Rush at the time.

i remember being amazed at the sound that came out of that first Boston Record. Similar to the sensation of first hearing Dark SIde of the Moon. You sat there mesmerized by the sound quality.

(although Brad and Tom were Boston)

Boston wouldn't have been squat without the guitar work of Barry Goudreau. He was Boston's trademark sound.

Levon still lives in Woodstock (the town, not the music festival).

He pops up around Albany occasionally playing in clubs, or contributing to local musicians.

Cool guy.

I have a live album that starts off with Bullfrog Blues. I love that song. If I see anything regarding Taste, I'll let you know.

Scott Says might have a insight.

Wow, there's a name I haven't thought of in years. Rory was a great guitar man.

I did a "your most memorable Concert experience" thread a couple years back. Man, did freepers drag out the memories for that one. Might be time for a new one soon.
