A southwest Houston father shot and killed a 27-year-old man Saturday after arriving home to find the man with his 13-year-old daughter, police said.
After the parents arrived at their home in the 6900 block of Chasewood, the girl and 27-year-old man fled out the back door, said Houston Police Department spokeswoman Johanna Abad. The man later called the mother by phone and returned to talk to the parents, but the girl remained missing throughout the night.
When the man returned to the house, the father was waiting for him with a loaded shotgun, police said. The two argued before the father shot and killed the other man.
It was unclear Sunday night whether the father was in police custody or if any criminal charges had been filed.
Houston police issued an Amber Alert for the missing 13-year-old, but canceled it after the parents learned their daughter had spent the night at a friend's house. She came home Sunday.
Abad said she did know the nature of the teen and the 27-year-old's relationship.
Embroidery and discussing Fordyce's Sermons obviously, what else could it be?
I can understand the father being pissed cause I know I would be but whipping out a gun and wasting the dude aint the way to go dude. The daughter was missing and after he shot the guy she was still missing so that didnt help except now he faces charges..last thing a 13 year old who getting busy with a 27 year old needs is to lose her daddy but the fact that she was doing a 27 year old and he wasting people might mean it aint that much of a loss
In Alabama that is what we use'd to call an "attitude adjustment."
Father: "Uh, 12 gauge"
Houston Cop: "Good, because we only carry around boxes of 12 gauge shells with us for our shotguns. Here, take this box, give us a call if you need any more..."
Convoluted legal scenario, and not a lot of details in this to be precise for whatever charges might be considered...
Dear Jury: If you came home and saw a grown man with your 13 y/o daughter would you be all smilies and forgiving?
Give the man an award.
You laugh too hard, you cry.
Maybe not, but it's how I would have handled it.
Murder, of course.
The father ran inside to get a gun while the mother called 911, police said.
The mother got into an argument in the driveway with a man who was inside the home, detectives said. The father saw the man making threatening gestures and shot the man, police said.
Huh??? Did mom call 911 from her cellphone in the driveway or did the guy run back inside the house? Either way, dad did society a favor.
Based on these details, littering at most!
The only name we get is that of the minor child. Pretty sad.
Looks like the "He needed killin'" defense might prevail in this case.
Shouldn't be charged with anything, IMHO. But that's an idealistic viewpoint. ;-)
Lots of concern about Law and Order on this thread, I see.
I don't watch Law and Order.
But with all the talk of Thompson lately, maybe I should start!
