Just a guess, but they're proabably afraid that their prescriptions will be traced. In CA, scripts for those drugs are written in triplicates and one copy is sent to the state and kept on file forever.
He's gone to bed, so I might be wrong about the state keeping one copy. It could be the DEA, since the doctor's DEA number has to appear on every script he writes.
Probably because most of her patients wouldn't want it to be known they see a psychiatrist:)
