My guess is that KE (the head shrinking drug pusher) is the one that put the mommy dearest thoughts & images into Anna's head. My guess is that KE has been part of Anna's life since at least the summer of 2002.
Anna BOUGHT the house next door to KE and that was very early on during Anna's reality show. The first show aired on TV 8/4/2002. (we all know they film about a 6 of these weeks if not months in advance when a series first starts)
She finds the house during her first show - The first show (aired 8/4/02) is titled "Househunting" - she is househunting because she wants to sell her first house because she was stalked by Jackie Hatten brother)
Wes Irwin (KE's husband) is listed as being in the first season series. Then Anna does a show with KE that first aired on 4/6/03 - The subtitle is called "Trading Spaces" and they are pretty chummy in this show (holding hands). KE may have been in earlier shows as I am still looking through them.
Did we ever establish who was the neighbor that Mark "Hollywood" Hatten was accused of assaulting?
He reportedly woke up "drugged in an ice-bath" and according to his sister, Jackie Hatten, he was set-up by HK$ for stalking ANS. They had a brief affair - photos of them in bed together. He also had lots of tatoos.
Serving 7 years - Virgie contacted Mark Hatten to find out about ANS and her "drug pushing friends" because she was unable to contact her.

Anna decorates her neighbor's room, while they decorate hers.

Anna trades spaces with her neighbors, Kris and Wes. Anna wants them to decorate her room of choice, and she wants to decorate theirs. The neighbors hire a designer, while Anna hires a designer of her own -- who just happens to be a dominatrix. Anna decides to male her neighbor's room a "sex room."
After shopping for the necessary items, Anna, Howard, and Kim get to work. They clear out the room and start the transformation. They paint all the walls black. Over at Anna's house, the neighbors use feng shui to decorate the room.
Finally, it's time for the rooms to be revealed. Anna loves her room. Wes liked the room Anna had decorated, but after some discussion Kris decides it's best for them to redo the room (because it faces the street, and may be offensive to some people).
