Why would G. Ben Thompson handed a $900,000.00 Estate over to Anna Nicole Smith and Howard K.Stern after she became pregnant with no written lease or sales agreement in place?
You would think a savvy, successful Real Estate Developer might know better.
But they did!! That's the entire point of this whole debacle. They had a contract that said she would get a mortgage on this within so many days but Anna said she thought it was a gift (somehow I have a feeling HKS was a part of her 'misunderstanding'). It was not a gift, it was a purchase until they got a mortgage. Then they (HKS and ANS) turned into squatters. They needed a place in their name to the permanent residency, but didn't have the funds right then. I think they made a deal hoping to get some cash quick. The whole part that is odd is that after Daniel died, they had enough money from the sale of those photos to at least get a mortgage with half of the money to put down. But chose not to. HKS got ANS in more trouble than she ever had without him. But she was too dumb or gullible to figure it out.
But they did!! That's the entire point of this whole debacle. They had a contract that said she would get a mortgage on this within so many days I know they did. That is common knowledge. It is the *reasoning* behind it that was being questioned. WHY would a successful realtor do that? Was it because ANS was a dear friend? They only knew her for a month or two. Was it because she was so damned good in bed? She'd really have to be to get a deal like that but regardless of how many tricks she knew I doubt any savvy real estate businessman would make such a deal after knowing her for such a short time. I think there was something more to it but I doubt G. Ben Thompson or the Shelley's will ever say what it was.
