Gosh, I remember every one of those songs. Still have that album, too. Good high school memories.

I guess the wait for that next album (remember that?) is going to be really, really long.

I hear Boston was going to do a tour this year, and that Brad was going to get married in the middle of the tour.
Yeah - a few weeks ago, my wife heard something about this on the radio, and we found out they were going on tour. We were planning on seeing them - we saw them in concert with a couple of other bands in the '70s in Texas - they were just getting started if I recall, and I don't know why they were playing Texas at the time, but it was her first true American rock concert (I think Black Sabbath was the headliner - we got the tickets for free and decided to go. It was a weird concert, but Boston was really good - much more enjoyable than Ozzy and company).

Yes, it was ironic that it was my wife's first American rock concert, even though Black Sabbath was playing as well (we had met during the first time I was stationed in Europe).

Air guitarists around the world are in mourning. Sigh.

A blurb on TV mentioned that Boston had started to gain a new following among teens and 20-somethings, not because their parents had played it, but because Boston had a song in some video game that's very popular. Kind of odd - I'm not sure where their songs would fit into a video game soundtrack, but cool nonetheless.

Wore out the first album: My friends wanted to kill me.

Could be Grand Theft Auto, but most likely Guitar Hero. You can't go into Fry's or Best Buy without seeing people playing that with a crowd gathered around, and More Than A Feeling is one of the songs.
I didn't like the band's politics, which wasn't an issue in the music itself until more recent recordings. Still, they've always been a favorite, and Brad Delp was one of the best vocalists in rock.

This is unfortunate. These guys were an inspiration to me years ago to learn guitar.

Just another reason to be careful out there. I hope Peart is paying attention.

(I think Black Sabbath was the headliner - we got the tickets for free and decided to go. I remember the first time I heard Boston on a good stereo -- I was in college and a buddy had a friend who had a nice setup with a gargantuan receiver (probably 125 watts -- considered huge at the time) and some JBL L100s. The sound was incredible -- really brought out the best of that first Boston album.
Never saw them in concert though. Consider yourself lucky.

So sad. Wasn't Boston supposed to tour this summer?
