I wouldn't be surprised if she WAS on Prozac and stopped taking it cold-turkey. That stuff can be REALLY hellatious on brain chemistry if not weaned off of it.

Prozac doesn't work for everybody with depression. It makes some people a lot worse, may not do anything for others. Some people cannot tolerate SSRI's which is what class this drug is in along with Paxil, Wellbutrin, Lexapro and several others. It takes a really skilled doc (and a little luck) to find the right meds for people who have psychological problems. I have seen lives transformed if the right med or combo is found. I have also seen people with side effects so bad it is unreal. Some meds have terrible physical side effects (I'm not just talking a little nausea), and some make people more unstable, unpredictable, psychotic and miserable than they already are. Just tapering off some of them can make you suicidal and nearly psychotic (if you aren't already).

I feel really sorry for this girl. If she didn't have a life in the limelight, I'd say her chances were better, but part of her psyche now seems to be enmeshed with being famous and all that entails. She does seem to crave attention. Maybe that is the main part of her problem, she can't just be normal, has to have some constant drama going on in her life, mostly self-orchestrated. Sad.
