Howard Dean Demands GOP Candidates Denounce Ann Coulter for Referring to John Edwards as a 'Faggot'
Please read some of the reply posts contained within the above link.
We all hear the complaints of how Libs stereotype and exaggerate the belief models of the GOP. Each of the complaints are justified due to the self-serving nature in which they're presented by different individuals imop (i.e. Sharpton, Jackson, Gore, Clintons, Dean etc).
Understanding the attention this forum carries and willingness of the MSM to stereotype, it really makes a person wonder "why these posts"?
It's well known Coulter is a loose-cannon who's not the most likeable person on the street. Sure, from time to time she may say things that we all wish we could say about a topic. Too many of those times they're comments that are intended to cut deep, undercut pride or reduce a person's dignity. In hindsight, we realize that by holding our tongue a mistake wasn't made with those comments. Disagreements are made through detail and facts, not over-the-top personal attacks.
We also hear/understand the remarks about Libs dividing the country, but no one works harder at it than Coulter.
Give a moment of reflection during the Hillary Clinton 2008 Acceptance Speech ... and think about the persons' who will reap the financial and media exposure benefits the most from her victory.
Same shoe, different foot.
As she's not a part of any particular candidate's campaign, it also will not be used as a stick to beat any of the Republican contenders.
Regards, Ivan
This a funny joke. Is it a little crass? Yes but still funny.
A tranny calling someone a faggot? More ironic than funny
See its not funny because unlike "faggot" you don't have to go into rehab if you use the word "tranny".
To make matters worse, by denouncing her, we tacitly admit that she actually has an official capacity for conservatives. She doesn't represent us.
And it appears there are plenty of PC republicans who want to squash free speech or at least use pressure usually reserved for use by the media, to shame actors and athletes into going into rehab over speech.
It could have been worse. She could have called him a major league a..hole or told him to go f himself. We all know that real Republicans don't do that sort of thing. She would have had to shave her head and go into rehab. Real Republicans don't call a fairy a faggot.
And how many of the people who heard Coulter knew that background? Or instead just thought she was screaming for attention, again?
The more you have to explain a joke after the telling the less funny it is.
Well I would guess Rush and Hannity probably mentioned it on their shows. It was front page news and ABC reported it. Greys Anatomy is a big hit show.
FYI...in January, 2001, shortly after conceding the election, Al Gore appeared on Saturday Night Live. In one skit, he posed barechested in a hot tub, drinking wine with a Joe Lieberman look alike. At the end of the skit, they leaned towads each other, entwined arms, and drank, and appeared to be about to kiss as the screen faded to black.
DEan made a big mistakee. Now the issue won't die down...
I know you and I have been called some pretty bad things here over the years. Where are our protest threads?
Coulter should refrain from doing this at such gatherings where she is just one cog, because it gives the media a convenient excuse to ignore everyone and everything else and focus on her. She should save this for events centered around her and her alone.
Yeah, I don't think Ann did anything wrong, not should she apologize.
"You question someone's conservative beliefs because they don't think it's appropriate to call a candidate a "faggot" in a highly profile public forum?? That type of thought process is more than a little frightening."
Oh stop being such a wussy faggot.
Does this make you want to vote for a liberal candidate?
Freedom of speech...it's only for liberals. Thanks. I'd forgotten.
So understanding the joke behind Anna'a "edgy" humour requires following some chick TV show?
LOL! Cool....somebody here 3 years is calling somebody here 2 years a newbie? With profanity too, no less!
I am so dissapointed in Ann. Now I'm thinking she is hurting more than helping. It's true - we will never live down the stereotypes as long as our "spokespeople" continue this kind of talk.
It's funny (well, not really), but my Father in law is a Dem. He is the one who is rasist, homophobic, bigoted..everyting they say about the Repubs. But we are the ones that the lable will always be pinned on. Sad.
