Why are FReepers fascinated by this?

This is the new version of the soap opera. As with the old dinosaur network news being replaced by the internet and instant media, the internet is now creating new human interest and (sorry freepers) gossip forms.

Now we have real life soap operas, in real time, and we can discuss it with real and many people.

And notice how TV and internet are so entwined on so many stories.

Bill Gates was right when he remarked that he doesn't understand why most people don't see a huge change coming.

I dont know, but with the death of all those kids at the high school from the tornado and the bus crash, it gets me sick to see the continued reporting on Nicole Smith.

I guess there is some comfort in knowing that at least the media is not bothering the poor souls who lost children in the events of the last 24 hours.
