Just as a bit of background, Redding used to be, as of a decade
or so ago, a 'dumping ground' for paroled perverts.

You beat me to it.
I can't remember the name of the show that publicized that...
but I do recall it and promised myself I'd never let my car
break down in Redding...
especially if I was driving my family on a vacation trip.

Most of it is okay, but it does have more than its share of perverts since the prisons started dumping there.

When I went to grammar school at the lake, Redding was only about 15,000 people, and was a nice small town. I hate even going there to visit relatives & friends there, now.
