I still haven't seen any clouds in the sky today....can we borrow some of yours? Midwinter I'd be happy to oblige, upon occasion. But not this time of year; I have to close the office blinds when the sun comes out... and my window faces north.
To: SandyInSeattle
I left my umbrella at the office, so I arrived today with a slightly damp, drizzled look. Ah, Seattle! Umbrella?
UMBRELLA??!?
Sandy, Sandy, Sandy, did nobody ever tell you that Seattleites do not carry umbrellas?!? We LIVE for that "slightly damp, drizzled look" and even turn our faces up to the rain, when it's light and soft enough!
(Though I confess I put my glasses away first, and it's kind of annoying when I end up with a wet beard. There can be issues with being a mossback...)

If, on the other hand, you have too much time on your hands, no one is better at killing time than Pat. I just know I am going to regret asking this, but... Who's Pat?
To: sionnsar; NicknamedBob
I think the question maybe is WHAT is Pat?

Just go take a look on Tax-Chick's home page.
The whole cast of characters is there.

Folks,
I've got an early morning class to conduct, preparations for which wore me out today -- I'm out of here. And tomorrow's a milestone birthday (why is it always in Lent?), so I may not be back until Saturday.
Later,

Well, I usually end up just carrying it unless I'm in a downpour heading
to work. Even then it doesn't really matter, my hair is so straight it dries in five minutes and I just whip out the office curling iron to do my bangs.
It comes in handy when walking down second avenue after work. I have to walk past all the functionally mentally ill and drug crazed homeless and it helps to be carrying something pointy. :-)
Besides, the wind around here grabs the umbrella and I end up doing a Mary Poppins down the street.

Chickens, like us, are omnivores.
If the milk duds were free-ranging, they were fair game.
