Have fun! I just put Vlad to bed, and I'm about to run. It's warmer than expected.

It's about 300 Spartans holding a mountain pass, I believe. "Against incredible odds!" Or something.

"It's about 300 Spartans holding a mountain pass, I believe. "Against incredible odds!" Or something.Thermopylae was the name of the pass, and the battle against Xerxes' more than 14,000 Persians.
We're more familiar with this battle than you may realize. That word, Thermopylae, we pronounce "T h e A l a m o".

14,000? Try 200,000 according to the "conservative" estimates. Over a million according to others although Themisticles may have taken care of quite a few of those at sea with his Oracle prophesied "wall of wood" Triremes.
Farkin' awesome movie if you are a fan of Frank Miller. I can see why it gave the "historical purists" the screaming sh*ts and our Persian friends heartburn...

Happy Norooz, y'all! (It's Persian Music Day on the MP3 player...)
Finally got a break on preparing my class! Finished the powerpoint for session 1 (Friday morning) this morning then started in on #2, unsure if I'd have Monday morning's ready in time even if I worked through the weekend. But two key members came up with conflicts, so I now have until Wednesday morning to get #2 ready (though I need to be working on #3 by then).

I think it's an admiring description of your effect, Darks, not your intention.
