Just wait until she starts trying to type for you...or at least swats at your fingers while you do.

Cats are so funny.

Tori dearly loves to nip at my finges while I type. Her daddy left on a trip this morning, so she's attached herself to me.

Silly girl.

Mine head butts me.

I get that end too. When she's feeling particularly needy (like when Daddy's not home), she walks back and forth between me and the keyboard, alternating between head butts and...well... butts.

She has a long, fluffy, swishy tail, too. The better to inflame my allergies, you see.

Her sister, Chloe, is sound asleep on my bed. I was napping, but she and Phoebe managed to kick me out and take over. Now I'm watching Anaheim Hills burn down on Fox news.

I heard they were having a heat wave.

The fires have started already?

How sad.

Hi Rottn,

I missed your post.
:-)

Is it warm where you are?

Howdy! I was all set to fire up the sewing machine (cough, sputter, backfire) and work on adjusting the thread tension ... and then I find that I don't have a spool of brown thread! ARG!

I almost bought some at Wal-mart on Saturday, but no, I was sure I had some.

For a split second I thought you said "Thanks for the warming"....

LOL -- it was warm too. Almost too warm for my rainshell.

Yep. The Santa Ana winds came early this year, and that area has only had two inches of rain where they would normally have about twelve, if memory serves.

Luckily people evacuated themselves and their animals, so now they're in structure protection mode. That area is terrible for fire when the Santa Anas are blowing.

Well, I would think you could work on adjusting the thread tension without having the correct color of thread.

You know ... work with what you have. Make sure your engine is tuned up and running properly, and then ...

Then when you have the proper materials, everything will be just sew fine.

Not really. The thread tension has to be adjusted (through trial and error) to the particular combination of fabric and thread.

Have you ever considered, that a corollary could be made between crafting a story, and sewing a garment?

I mean, just as you said, the tension has to be adjusted for the fabric and the thread. The thread of the plot, as it twists through and about the fabric of the background, and the tension rises just when things are beginning to get tight ...

I'm just sayin' ...
