Is The Departed a good movie??

The Departed is great. I loved it.

I didn't like it much. Warmed over and soulless. And overlong. See Infernal Affairs. The Taiwanese film it was a remake of.

What's the departed about? I'm totally clueless about most of these movies.

I thought it was terrific.

Not wanting to sound chauvanistic but not every girlfriend or wife is going to enjoy it.

The acting all around is phenominal...but look at the cast.
