I don't know. I just got this thing in the mail from ABC, something about "procedures for dying." There was some kind of application inside and one of those tiny skinny pencils that Time Magazine used to send out.
"Shirley you jest. ;)"
Don't call me "jest."
Sounds serious.
All this cooking..while I was posting about the Devastating Tornado in Dumas AR.
My dear husband spent the afternoon looking for a new Jet Ski..
Oh, back to ANS thread now. We're working on 16,000 posts. Wanna help out?
sw
I think I may actually have posted on the ANS thread early on. I think I said something like, "Is she still dead?"
Good luck with that.
To tell ya the truth, I've not watched much of ANS except for the nighttime highlights you can't get away from (you'd have to be comatose to have escaped it.) I'm a bit repulsed by it, for the same reason I could only stomach the first episode of her show on E! a few years back: I didn't find the exploitation of a woman with extreme substance addictions killing herself in slow motion the least bit entertaining.
She needed an immediate intervention, not a stupid reality show & what happened to her this month was completely predictable, yet nobody ever seemed to care enough to do anything to prevent it as long as she was bringing in the big bucks. Now, even as she's laid out on a slab, everyone's still picking her pockets and it's all too ineffably sad, even depressing, for me to get sucked into this circus as I might have been had it been someone else.
That's just me, though. Maybe the hideous train wreck that was this pathetic woman's life just happened to hit my 'there but for the grace of God...' button or something.
But whaddya know, I did click on this ANS thread, didn't I?
And I do know plenty of quite decent, highly intelligent, & very serious people who've been utterly transfixed by this god-awful mess & it's not hard to figure out why. It's positively Shakespearean, it truly is.
So, though I have managed to avoid most of ANS the way I avoid most of the wall-to-wall football stuff at Super bowl time, I gotta say I'm actually starting to get even more irritated by the "what's wrong with all these freaks who're obsessing on it" posts, lol!
After all, there are lots of non-serious non-political threads on FR. Nobody complains about all the Nascar stuff around here, do they?(well ok, I guess maybe I might have once) Good grief, heaven help us, there are even (gulp) GOLF threads here! ;-)
Somehow we all manage to click on the topics that interest us & scroll right past the others with no problem every day, don't we?
So yeah, the WoT, Iraq & Nov 2008 are important, but where is it written that people can't also take part in a good old-fashioned whodunit (& that's what this story really is).
You don't think maybe all these "Why are all these nuts so hooked on ANS?" ANS threads may just be a sneaky roundabout way for the rest of us to climb over the cloister walls & join the party while maintaining our sense of superiority, do ya?
We should all probably just lighten up a little. Now, if this thread gets to 250 posts & anti-anti-ANS ANS threads start popping up, maybe then we really should start to worry! ;-)
"Now, if this thread gets to 250 posts ..."
C'mon folks! Do your share. Just 60 more are needed!
190!
Oops. Make that 191!
Seriously, that goofball judge is something worth talking about considering the problems Florida judges have been causing around this country since at least 2000.
You nailed it.
That judge reminds me of the kind of guy who was regularly beat up by Arnold Stang and Wally Cox when they were kids.
"I just don't "get" it.:
I don't either, and was going to ask when such an inane and stupid subject would burn out.
I never understood the concept of "star attraction" for anyone, much less a drunken, deranged, and washed up bunny.
So many post for such a stupid thread has made me question
the sanity of the membership.
Anyone seen Elvis lately???
It's hard to look away from this story. So many oddballs, so much drama, so much suspense, it's one of those "can't look can't look away" deals.
